海外のApple Online Storeのサイトをチェックしていたところ、香港版のSIMフリーのiPhone SEに関する表記がiPhone 6sと異なる点を発見しました。
Apple Online StoreのiPhoneの購入ページには、「SIMフリーのiPhoneについてさらに詳しく」という項目が掲載されています。これは販売国によって表記が異なるページで、香港版のiPhone 6sに関しては購入ページの「About the unlocked iPhone」にて以下の表記となっています
The unlocked iPhone includes all the features of iPhone but without a wireless contract commitment. You can activate and use iPhone on the supported GSM wireless network of your choice. The unlocked iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus will not work with CDMA-based carriers. An unlocked iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus may not support LTE networks in all other countries; contact service providers for details.
「The unlocked iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus will not work with CDMA-based carriers.」と明記されており、GSM系のキャリアでしかアクティベーションできず、CDMA2000を採用しているキャリアでは利用できないことが公式に表記されています。一方で、今回発売されたiPhone SEは以下のとおり。

CDMAキャリアに関する表記が削除されており、任意のネットワークでアクティベーションが可能との旨の表記に書き換わっています。
香港版iPhone SEはSIMフリースマートフォン販売サイトのExpansysにて送料を入れて国内SIMフリー版よりやや安い程度で輸入可能となっており、国内版iPhoneと違いスクリーンショット撮影時や写真撮影時にマナーモードに設定しておけばシャッター音を消音可能。香港版iPhone 6sにはCDMAキャリアが利用できないという欠点がありましたが、今回のiPhone SEに関してはその問題も無くなった可能性があります。通信性能は国内版同等で価格も安くシャッター音も無音化可能ということで、SIMフリーのiPhone SEを普通に買いたい場合でも選択肢としておすすめできそうです。
